SAVING STANDARD MIDI FILES FROM DIGITAL PERFORMER:
"When saving a sequence as a Standard MIDI file (in order to import it into Sibelius), do not select "save track names as plain text" when the MIDI File Options window opens (just before you hit Save). If you do, most of the track names will not attach to the staff as a staff name but above the first bar as Technique text; the rest will labeled "Piano". If you leave the "save track names as plain text" box unchecked, track names will become staff names, which, if needed, can easily be edited."

Richard Bronskill
"You can get Sibelius to write circled or boxed bar numbers and rehearsal marks"

SIBELIUS COMPANION APPLICATION: PDFtoMusic
Pro is a revolutionary product from Myriad
Software that translates PDF files created by
other music notation programs into MusicXML format.
It knows that staff lines are lines and that noteheads
are noteheads because it reads the actual lines
and font character information in the file, so it
doesn't have to guess if some group of black dots
on a page should be a slur or a notehead. The results
are far more accurate translations than have ever
been possible before. If you have files in Mosaic,
Overture, Professional Composer, Logic, Cakewalk
or other apps where MIDI has been your only option
to translate into Sibelius, this is a must-have
companion application.

up a document with different font definitions, you can save this information
to use in other documents by exporting it as a House Style. For more information,
see the Sibelius User Manual. - Robert Puff
